What is "ANAMA"?
ANAMA means family in Tupi, an indigenous language from the Brazilian Amazon region. When you join our experiences, you join our family.
While 90% of revenue from traditional tourism benefits corporate giants and international chains, our mission is to put that money back in the pockets of the local people and the families we support. It’s the only way to protect the places we love and create sustainable tourism.
When you embark on a journey with us, your travel expenditures become a force for good. They empower women-managed homestay networks in remote villages of Vietnam, fuel job training initiatives for rural youth in Costa Rica, support indigenous conservation endeavors in the heart of the Amazon, bolster rural tourism cooperatives in the enchanting Yucatan, and so much more.

PEOPLE
We only work with experienced local guides who possess an intimate understanding and deep passion for their homelands. They are people, much like yourself, who love to recommend the best street food gems and reveal hidden spots that remain unknown to the masses. By strengthening our connection with our guides and their families, we help safeguard the environment they depend on for their livelihoods. It's a symbiotic relationship between people and nature at its best.
ENVIRONMENT
Achieving sustainable tourism in a world filled with practices damaging the environment is not an easy task. Besides educating our local guides, we also calculate the carbon footprint of each of our trips. By promoting responsible travel practices, we reduce our environmental impact and offset the remaining balance by investing in reforestation, energy efficiency, and biodiversity conservation projects. Together, we leave the places we love better than we found it.

Safety is our top priority, and we are fully dedicated to crafting thrilling adventures that are as secure as they are enjoyable. We maintain a vigilant focus on risk management, collaborating closely with our local partners to proactively address potential issues. Prior to any journey, we assess the risks and implement robust safety protocols to minimize them. Our guides always have plan B and they will take you through your expedition with the highest level of care.
